Today at preschool- Qq and Rr Day

It's great to be back at preschool with your children and Mrs. Gruenwald. Florida was wonderful and being with our son Andrew and his wife was lots of fun. While you are with your children everyday when they are little it is extremely difficult to imagine being in their home someday and having them prepare things for you...and then with what seems as a blink of the eye, there you are. My dad would remind us when our children were little...he would say "when your children are 9 years old, that is half the time they will be with you. Eighteen years old is the usual age to leave home and go to college. Boy, nine years goes by so quickly! Enjoy these years, hang on to the memories...you are half through the nine. I am not telling you this to depress you or sadden you in any way....the fact is - time goes quickly! Enjoy the moments and thank God for giving them to you!

We had a lots going on at preschool today. We had a great Jesus Time just before we went into church and got our cross on our forehead, or hand, or a no thank you. Pastor James and Pastor Hudson blessed us. We sang, “Go Now in Peace” when we left.

The book I read at Jesus time was "God Cares When I'm Sorry." A little girl was offered two brownies, one for her and one for her sister. She made a bad choice. She took one for herself and then put the other in her pocket for later. See if your child can tell you about it. There were many feeling talked about ....sorry ...sad... guilty...the children were so with every word.

Then came the "I'm sorry" and forgiveness...along with a clean heart, joy and a happy heart. The Bible verse was John 1:9 ... If we confess our sins; He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I explained confess and they repeated my preschool version of it. If we confess out sins, God is faithful and will forgive our sins and make our hearts clean. It was a good time with the Yellow Class!

We then went downstairs and did an alphabet game. We pretended we were at Disneyworld on a ride and ran and wove in and out of the tables and chairs, always breaking up into a smaller group until we are all running on our own.

We heard David read us a story...Go Away Big Green Monster. Great job, David! Natalie also made up song at the beginning of class and sang it and then a poem at snack time. What a sweetie!

Horton Hatches the Egg was another story today...a story about morals and doing the right thing.

We ate yummy apples from Ethan today while I told them the story about the “Little Red House with No Doors and Windows and had a Star Inside! Whew! What a title!

I think I got a little long winded here. One more thing…Cathy Gruenwald needed to be in the Yellow Class this afternoon because Mrs. Walthius was ill. I missed having her with us today; she is such a great asset to the preschool and to our Blue Class. I think you know that, but I just wanted to mention it. Our staff at Immanuel is wonderful!

Thank you, Mrs. Strauch, for helping us today!

Another day tomorrow.

Sweet dreams! Say your prayers! Mrs. Stumpf
